Well folks, it's official: I got the job at Creighton University. For those of you not already in–the–know, I recently applied for a web development position at Creighton University. After two interviews, tons of paperwork, and two weeks of intense waiting, I was offered the position.
In terms of job description, it's rather similar to what I am doing now, but I won't be responsible for any of the front–end design or back–end maintenance. In the past two years I've learned that it's very difficult to do every facet of web development well if you're the only one who's doing it. That being said, I'll be joining a team of several top–notch developers, front–end designers, and system administrators to help accelerate several projects currently in development at Creighton.
This whole thing starts March 3rd. In the meantime, I'm taking a week-long—don't worry, it's paid—vacation. My goal for the week is to get bored enough to want to work again. I'm currently suffering from a serious case of burnout and I'm hoping that this little break snaps me out of it.
If you were to ask me what I'm looking forward to, I would have to say all the different kinds of people. After I clocked out for the last time on Friday, I drove up to Creighton to fill out some pre–employment paperwork. Instead of driving everywhere on campus, I decided to just walk around and get a good look at the place I was going to be working at. As I moved around campus, I saw all kinds of people from all different walks of life. Granted, most of them could have walked off the pages of a Hollister catalog, but many struck me as unique and refreshing; in a lot of ways it reminded me of the Old Market.
I think this change and subsequent opportunities will be good for me. I've lost so much in the past six months between missed opportunities, dead friendships, and the struggle to keep what few friendships I have alive and thriving, so I'm looking forward to a chance to be in a place where I can choose to thrive and grow: I need this.

Hey Levi~ I am way excited to see what will happen at Creighton:) enjoy your week off buddy!
I'm proud uh ya Bud. Nice job, er nice job. I mean it's a good job and you did a good job. OK
Did you really walk around campus? LOL...sorry missing your humor!!
